The rise of misinformation in the digital age has given birth to a new kind of warfare known as cyberwarfare. In this form of warfare, individuals known as cyberwarriors intentionally spread false information to defame their opponents or create unity among allies. This study focuses on examining the level of activity displayed by cyberwarriors in a large online forum. Surprisingly, our findings reveal that only a small fraction of cyberwarriors are actually active users. Contrary to expectations, these cyberwarriors remain mostly silent during times of peace and only become active when necessary. Additionally, we explore the difficulties in identifying cyberwarriors and provide evidence that identifying inactive cyberwarriors is much more challenging than identifying active ones. Lastly, we discuss potential methods to better identify cyberwarriors during their inactive periods, offering insights into effectively capturing their presence and actions.
